Abstract
This exploratory study aimed to determine what factors affected health-seeking behavior. Ethnography was used until data saturation was reached; views and perspectives on the phenomenon were likewise explored. Subjects from both urban and rural areas were interviewed in the local dialect using structured questions pertaining to their behavior when afflicted with an illness with regard to the factors thought to influence health-seeking behavior. The proportion of respondents possessing these factors that demonstrated and did not demonstrate scientific health-seeking behavior was then determined.
